Enchantment of Winter - Besteld via Internet in de US.

Ik heb wel de paarse zijde er bij gekocht maar voor de rest koop ik de garens ook weer bij de Breibrink.  Het is een vreselijk werk maar het resultaat mag er zijn. Het komt op de foto niet zo mooi over dan het in werkelijkheid is. Ik heb een 11 draadse stof maar een heel kruisje werd gewoon niet mooi. Ik maak nu halve kruisjes. Als de basiliek af is dan gaat de rest uiteraard wel in hele kruisjes en dan gaan ik over op 2 over 2 draads. Het midden gedeelte gaat over 1 draad stof en met 1 draad zijde.

If have ordered the purple silk with the charts, but the rest of the DMC is bought at 'De Breibrink'. It is a hell of a job, but the result counts. In reality it is more beautiful then you can see on the picture. I used 11 thread fabric, and half stitches. If the Basilica is ready I will switch to normal stitches 2 over 2 threads. The centre is 1 over 1.

De voortgang......
(14 januari 2005) Het is monnikenwerk maar het resultaat is er naar...Als de omringende kleuren af zijn moet ik aan de stiksteekjes  van de Basiliek beginnen (zucht). De draad wat de sneeuw moet voorstellen werkt niet makkelijk en breekt steeds af.

(January 14, 2005) It is really a hell of a job, but the result is beautiful. As soon as the surrounding colours are ready, I have to start with the stitches of the Basilica (sigh). The thread for the snow is very difficult to work with and it breaks very easily.

(30 jan 2005) Weer een stukje verder. Ik heb de paarse zijde gewassen en nu ben ik eerst de gouddraden aan het doen met de stiksteken en daarna de paarse invulling en gelijk de aansluitende stiksteken. De kraaltjes gaan ook gelijk mee. Ik kom daar dan niet meer met mijn handen, omdat ik van rechts naar links werk. Ik vind de kleuren combinaties erg mooi. Ik werk er met plezier aan en ben al aan het verzinnen wat voor een lijst er om moet.

(January 30, 2005) A little bit further. I have washed the purple silk and I am now working with the gold threads combined with the DMC. Also the beads are stitched in. I do not touch the beads anymore, because I am working from right to left. I really love the colour combinations. I enjoy the work and I already starts thinking about the type of frame.

(12 februari 2005) Links is er nu ook een behoorlijk stuk bijgekomen en alle stiksteekjes moeten daar nog van gebeuren...
